Strep Throat

Strep throat is an infection caused by streptococci bacteria that is commonly found in the throat and on the skin. People may be carriers of the bacteria without having symptoms or it can result in strep throat. Strep throat is contagious. • Sudden onset of sore throat
  • Fever and headache
  • Nausea, abdominal pain and occasional vomiting
  • Marked inflammation of throat and tonsils; bright red tonsils that may have ‘white spots’
  • Enlarged cervical lymph nodes
