Alumni News

Rebecca Friedrichs Wallace ’00

Rebecca writes, “I was married to Frank Wallace in June 2011 in the back yard of my parents’  home in Swarthmore, PA.  My father was the minister and my sister (Julia Bean ’04) was the maid of honor.  Three weeks before our wedding, I became a proud auntie to Jack Bean, who is now 8-mos old.  I’m pretty sure he should be a member of MENSA – he’s so smart (and cute)!  I am in the process of beginning work at the US Department of State, and recently graduated from The George Washington University with a Masters in International Affairs and Conflict Resolution.  My husband and I love Washington, DC and are planning to stay here for the foreseeable future.”

Sean Lynch ’06

Sean’s mom let us know that “Sean teaches ESL at Cambridge College and is pursuing a writing career by taking courses at the Grubb School in Boston.  He has already been published in NAP magazine.  At this time he is considering graduate school.”

Laura Piasio ’06

Laura is applying or a Masters program in publishing in England, “I’m ultimately interested in becoming a Literary Agent, but first I want to do a few years in Trade publishing. I currently work at an educational publishing house, and I love it here, but I think it is time I try something else. I’m choosing to go to England because –  for one thing, England has a lot of publishing houses and their grad programs seem to be quite respectable, and for another, I just love London and think it would be great to spend a few years abroad.”

Tony Frampton ’89

Congratulations to Tony and his wife Jackie McEntire! They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Mia Rachel Frampton, born January 2, 2012.  The couple lives in Indianapolis, Indiana.

John Branson ’65

John let us know that “As part of my duties as the historian at Lake Clark National Park and Preserve in Alaska, I just edited the book, The Early Years:  The Journals of Richard L. Proenneke 1967-1973,  published by the Alaska Geographic Association.”
