Edgar F. White ‘38 Athletic Hall of Fame

NYA pennant

The purpose of the Edgar F. White ‘38 Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize a team, player, coach, administrator, or friend of the school whose participation in NYA athletics has been impressive, while bringing distinction and pride to the Academy. Candidates’ careers should emphasize the ideals of sportsmanship, character, teamwork, and integrity. The Hall of Fame will also serve to connect alumni athletes from years past to current athletes at the Academy.

Individual athletes and teams must have graduated at least 10 years ago, while coaches must have had a career at the school spanning at least 5 years. Administrators and fans have no time requirement. Nominees both living and deceased will be considered based on their athletic achievement and demonstration of sportsmanship, character, teamwork, and integrity throughout their careers.

The nomination deadline for this year’s induction is August 15. Preference is given to nominees for whom 2010 is a reunion year, i.e. people who graduated in years ending in ‘5 and ‘0. After review by the Athletic Hall of Fame committee, the inductees will be announced and the induction will take place during a brunch during NYA’s Homecoming Weekend.
