On Thursday, June 3, Enburi, a professional dance troupe from Japan, will perform a dynamic and exciting show at NYA at 5:30 p.m. at the Griswold Quad (or in the gym if there is rain). The group is really exciting to watch, and this will be their last performance before they head back to Japan. In addition to the Enburi Dance Troupe, a taiko drumming group from Hall-Dale High School will be performing. Enburi is from the city of Hachinohe, which is in Aomori, Maine’s sister prefecture in Japan. After the 5:30 performance, there will be a potluck in Safford Center that is open to the NYA community. The performance is sponsored by NYA, the Maine-Aomori Sister-State Advisory Council, and the Japan America Society of Maine. If you have questions, please contact NYA’s Visual & Performing Arts Chair Ian Ramsey (or 846-9051, ext. 357). Watch Enburi.
