NYA Students Summer at Prestigious MMLA Language School
The Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy (MMLA), a summer language immersion program for pre-college students, began its third year of programming on Sunday, June 27. NYA rising juniors Hillary Detert (Brunswick) and Charlie Gerrity (Cumberland) were accepted to and attended the four-week residential session at Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont. MMLA offers immersion programs in Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, and German; Detert and Gerrity spent the four weeks studying Spanish.

Ninth Grade Orientation, August 30 & 31
A two-day orientation for the ninth grade class to introduce them to the Upper School and to each other. The class will meet all their teachers and advisors. They’ll also attend shortened versions of all their classes to become familiar with the campus and their schedules. Lots of group activities for fun and team building. A great two days of work and play!
Convocation & First Day of Classes
The 2010-2011 school year begins bright and early Tuesday morning, September 7. Please plan to arrive by 7:45am for Convocation, which will take place in Grizzy’s Quad. Parents are also welcome to attend. Remember, this is a Dress Up Day!
New Student Orientation
Students and families new to NYA visit campus this morning for orientation. The program includes an introduction to the academics, athletics and arts that comprise the NYA experience. The morning concludes with a ‘picnic’ for all on the front lawn.
