NYA Curtis Gallery Presents “Landscapes” Exhibit

September 2, 2010

North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) is proud to present the work of Anthony L. Muench (NYA class of 1964) and Abbie Sewall (photography instructor at NYA) in the Curtis Gallery through the month of October.

Muench is showing landscape sketches of works in progress and finished large pastel drawings He graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1970 with a B.F.A. and a degree in Landscape Architecture. He is the principal at Anthony Muench Landscape Architects, located in Portland, Maine. Images include fall foliage, the Peaks Island ferries and interpretations of coastal summer properties.

Sewall photographed a single coastal location entitled, One Point One Night, during the hour between dusk and darkness. The images illustrate different interpretations of the same point surrounded by ocean, sky and islands. She has a B.A. degree from Goddard College with a senior thesis in photography and has been a working photographer for Getty Images since 1995.

“For those who love the Maine coast, this show will be a pleasure, said Sewall.” The Curtis Gallery is located at 148 Main Street, Yarmouth, and is open to the public Monday through Friday during regular school hours.
