A student may be assigned to daily Academic Detention if a homework assignment is incomplete. Academic Detention takes precedence over all other school appointments except away athletic contests. In the Middle School, students are assigned to a 7th period study hall to complete the assignment. This may occur before, during, or after practice as determined by the teacher and/or proctor, and generally runs for 30 minutes. Upper School detention runs from 2:45 to 3:30 pm. A Detention Notification Slip is filled out by the teacher and sent via email to the parents and advisor. The Head of Upper School or Head of Middle School will meet with any student who habitually fails to complete assignments. Further disciplinary action may result.
