Prior to entering the Academy, new Upper School students meet with the Head of Upper School to choose a course of study. New Middle School students generally need only select language and music courses. Returning students consult with their advisors and teachers in the spring to make course selections. Juniors and seniors also meet with the Director of College Counseling. While we endeavor to give students their choices, we may recommend a certain course of study. Course sign-ups in the spring are tentative, since the final schedule is not constructed until the summer, and it may not be possible to schedule all of a student’s preferences. Students will be notified in the summer if there are any significant changes to be made in their proposed schedule.
