Severe Misconduct

Certain infractions are considered so severe that a single occurrence may jeopardize a student’s position in the school. Observing these regulations affords the students and faculty a safe, positive, learning environment. Severe misconduct includes the following:

  1. Violation of the Honor Code;
  2. Violation of the Computer Use Policies;
  3. Persistent or severe disruptiveness, disrespect, or violation of school rules;
  4. Destruction or vandalism of school or another individual’s personal property;
  5. Harassment of all forms, including specifically hazing and sexual harassment, or deliberate personal injury to another person (see Student Harassment Policy);
  6. Being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs, or using, possessing, or promoting alcohol or illegal drugs on the NYA campus or at any NYA sponsored or inclusive events, including athletic contests;
  7. Possession of a gun, knife or any other potentially deadly weapons on campus or at any NYA sponsored or inclusive events, including athletic contests.
