In keeping with the school’s commitment to service, all students are involved together in at least two social service projects each year. Grades five through twelve participate in Project: Reach Out, a day-long volunteerism for the greater Portland/Brunswick areas. In addition, each senior ends the twelfth grade year with two weeks of individual service work. The goals of these service projects are as follows:
- to create opportunities for students to give back to the community;
- to provide leadership and organizational experience in the process of planning and executing the various social service projects;
- to cultivate an awareness of human needs and environmental concerns.
