POSTPONED: Tonight’s Meeting for Parents & Students of Class of 2016

Because of the inclement weather, tonight’s meeting, scheduled for 7:00 pm, has been POSTPONED. It is now scheduled for Tuesday, February 7.  There are two possible meeting times next Tuesday - 7:45 am and/or 7:00 pm. We hope you’ll join us for one of these sessions.

NYA Swimmers compete successfully in exciting swim meet

Emma Laprise and Ted Elliott faced some stiff competition in their last swim meet.  Falmouth’s team boasted a large number of swimmers (15 seniors!), while Catherine McCauley was also present and gave Emma some competition in her races.  Needless to say it was a long, hot, crowded, and loud meet.  NYA swam well, although no new best times were set.  The water was so choppy, especially lane 1, that it would have been a small miracle.  Ted placed 3rd in the 200 freestyle and 2nd in the backstroke, while Emma finished 5th  in the same two events against a larger pool of girls.  Their next meet is Monday 1/30 at 7pm at the Casco Bay Y against Windham.

Nordic Teams Fare Well at Jan 25 Sprint!

 From Nordic Coach Kalie Dunn:

Congratulations to Cam & Ian, who finished 1 & 2 in the boys sprint! (Fred Field photo)

WOW what a wild and crazy race today! NYA boys’ had a strong 2nd place finish today, and the NYA girls had a solid day as well! Congrats to our top finishers of the day, Cam Regan and Ian Moore, who placed 1-2 in the boys race! Thanks to all parents and skiers for being so flexible with the race changes at the last minute. Thanks again to all parent volunteers who made the race possible today – I couldn’t have pulled it off with out you! I am lucky to have such a supportive group of parents, and I truly appreciate all of your help today! It was a lot of fun!

Rebecca Friedrichs Wallace ’00

Rebecca writes, “I was married to Frank Wallace in June 2011 in the back yard of my parents’  home in Swarthmore, PA.  My father was the minister and my sister (Julia Bean ’04) was the maid of honor.  Three weeks before our wedding, I became a proud auntie to Jack Bean, who is now 8-mos old.  I’m pretty sure he should be a member of MENSA – he’s so smart (and cute)!  I am in the process of beginning work at the US Department of State, and recently graduated from The George Washington University with a Masters in International Affairs and Conflict Resolution.  My husband and I love Washington, DC and are planning to stay here for the foreseeable future.”

Sean Lynch ’06
