North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) presents HONK! starring Alex Paige ’14 (Brunswick), Hadley Gibson ’12 (Freeport), and Chelsea Muller ’12 (Gorham), and featuring Dainius Bukauskas ’13 (Portland), Louisa Mahoney ’15 (Freeport), Iszi Mickunas ’15 (West Bath), Ian Bennett ’15 (Yarmouth), Tess Hinchman ‘15 (West Bath), Lily Dearing ’14 (Lisbon Falls), Rachel Matson ’12 (Yarmouth), and Anya Siviski ’15 (Lewiston).

HONK! is an adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen story The Ugly Duckling, with an incorporated message of tolerance. Music for HONK! was composed by George Stiles, book and lyrics by Anthony Drewe. HONK! debuted at The Watermill Theatre in England in 1993. The West End production opened in 1999 and won the 2000 Olivier Award (the British equivalent of the Tony® Award) for Best New Musical.
There are 51 cast members and four student crew members in the production. The show is directed by Nora Krainis with assistance from Patia Maule ’99 and piano accompaniment by Janelle Powers.
HONK! is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
