6th Science – YELLOW

Touch Tank Reflection

In class, you spent some time getting to “know” your organism from the touch tank.  Spend some time reflecting on what you learned from the animal.  Reflect in complete sentences, keeping the following questions in mind:

  • What did your animal look like?
  • What did you learn from your animal?
  • What was interesting about your animal that you did not know before?

Why Know Trees?

Write your thoughts in at least one paragraph (at least 5 sentences) about the following:

Do you think it’s important to know the identification of trees?  Why should or shouldn’t people know the names of trees?  Give some examples in your explanation to make it clear.

6th Grade Science – Yellow’s First Blog Post

You are about to post your first comment on our class blog.  Remember that I will be notified about your post before it gets published to the blog.  You won’t see your post until I “OK” the post.  This could take up to 24 hrs.  When you are writing a comment, you should write clearly and keep in mind that your post is PUBLIC.  ANYONE can see what you write – including your parents.  You should be proud of what you write.  Your comment should not look like you are texting a friend.  Additionally, if you are disagreeing with someone, make sure you are doing so respectfully.  IMPORTANT:  To make a comment, click on “comments” or “make a comment” (depending on whether you are the first to write a comment) and then type directly into the “Leave a Comment” box.  Do not hit reply – we will be replying to others’ comments later, but NOT YET!

Your first assignment:  Choose two animals that would create a hybrid that represents your personality.  Tell what the new name of that animal would be and explain why each animal is like you or your personality.  Your explanation should be at least five sentences.
