Animal School
This was going to be great,
This was going to be cool;
I was zooming down the hallway
on the first day of school.
I peeked into the classroom
It was like a zoo!
There were some zany zebras
And a silly kangaroo.
“Haven’t you heard,” the teacher said,
“It’s a special day.
All the students stay outside
And the animals come and play.”
I saw a great big lion working on some math.
I also saw a muddy pig; I think he needs a bath.
Then the teacher said, “It’s time to go outside.”
A group of pretty penguins started slipping down a slide!
The animals love school,
It is such a treat;
They love to read and write and add
And, most of all, to eat!
When the teacher gave them homework she said,
“Get all the answers right;
And lion, please don’t eat it tomorrow or tonight!”
