Welcome to the North Yarmouth Academy Development Office Homepage.

The NYA Development Office is responsible for Academy fundraising and also all Alumni Relations. Fundraising initiatives include the NYA Annual Fund, the Steve Morris Golf Tournament, the annual Spring Auction, Corporate Sponsorships, Grandparents’ Day and many others. Activities and mailings are coordinated through the office with the active participation of alumni, Trustee and parent volunteers. The Development Committee, comprised of trustees and friends, helps guide the office, creating goals and objectives.

The true cost of an NYA education, and that of most independent schools, is not covered completely by tuition and fees. Tuition covers 80% of the NYA experience. The role of the Development Office is to solicit charitable gifts to bridge the gap between school revenues and the actual cost of operating the school. These contributions are critical to underwriting of the Academy’s programs, campus maintenance and capital improvements.

The Development Office seeks both unrestricted and restricted (i.e. given for a specific purpose) gifts from a wide range of constituencies including alumni, parents, Trustees, grandparents, foundations and businesses. In many of our efforts, there are opportunities to make a named gift or to make a gift in honor or memory of someone. Additionally, NYA has a number of planned giving opportunities available, and we are happy to work with donors to ensure their philanthropic goals are achieved. Our “Ways of Giving” section on this site outlines the many ways you can make a gift including gifts of stock and bequests. It is possible to make a gift anonymously, and all gifts to NYA are tax-deductible.
