Parents’ Association Structure

All parents of students enrolled at NYA are automatically members of the Parents’ Association (PA). Each member is entitled to one vote on any matter submitted to a vote of the members.

The Executive Committee of the Parents’ Association consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary/Communications, Treasurer, Upper School Volunteer Coordinator, Middle School Volunteer Coordinator and Special Events Coordinator. The Executive Committee conducts the business of the Parents’ Association and facilitates communication between the PA and the school’s administration. The slate is elected annually in the spring of the year.

The PA holds two general meetings annually. The fall meeting is primarily to pass the budget and the spring meeting is to elect the slate of officers.

The PA also sponsors evening speakers, parent social events and monthly parent forums with Head of School Brad Choyt..
