Representatives from more than 60 colleges visit the NYA College Counseling lounge each year.
Philosophy
The college counseling program at North Yarmouth Academy is predicated on the belief that choosing a college is not a singular event for students. It is, rather, part of an ongoing process of self-exploration and self-awareness. We provide opportunities for students in grades nine through twelve to investigate their interests and talents — as well as their personalities, learning styles and preferences — in order to make better decisions about choices beyond North Yarmouth Academy. The college search process is a comprehensive and individualized one. It’s ALL ABOUT THE FIT. Our goal is to help match each student’s academic and personal goals and priorities with appropriate and realistic college choices.
