(open to current & incoming NYA students only)
The Leadership Academy is a unique opportunity for current and incoming NYA students to develop the skills and dispositions to be a successful leader, whether in the classroom, on the field, or in the woods. These courses follow an expeditionary model, taking students into the backcountry of Maine to hone their communication, teambuilding, and intrapersonal skills while engaging in the physically challenging experience of hiking or sea kayaking. The Leadership Academy is overseen by NYA faculty member Ian Ramsey.
